New years drawing Dwarves resolution!

Hay folks~

Me and Wolvie dearest are going to partake in a year long endeavor to draw a dwarf a month (Ori and Dori are learning to share, given that there is a dwarf extra~)

Centered around the character and actor, drawing only that dwarf per month.Also crafts for them, because it’s fun! xD

It’ll keep excitement for the Hobbit year long, holding you by until Desolation of Smaug’s release! =D

‘Greetings Esteemed Followers’ - without a doubt, the best opening to ever grace my personal blog, and it’s very appropriate that it was Wolvie who thought it up (being the smarter half of me, of course). I’d like to welcome you to The Wolvie and Rae Show (again coined by my genius xD) It is a… project blog, to be kept up by the both of us, and filled with, well, a lot of various things. Thoughts and ideas that just don’t feel quite right to post on our own blogs, or conversational things we share. Essays and poems and doodles, rants about characters, books, movies, and of course, lots of derping.

It is to be, an unashamed and raw place to hash out our souls to each other, a place of insight and input, open to all other views and rants that you can throw our way.

Alas, it will probably be a very boring beginning. I know mine is~ xD I expect Wolvie to spice it up a bit with some doodles here soon, so it won’t be too long before we get this show on the road. Sweet Odin a legit usage of that saying what is happening to me *-*

I would like to take a minute to talk about the picture/poem though, if I can (which I can because it’s my post and half my blog but I’m being polite for your sake, oh God please don’t hate me)

I was burning a candle one day, and this specific candle was having.. a lot of issues. The wick was too small, and the puddle of wax it was in was drowning it, while the walls of the candle were covered in wax and ever melting, thus making the puddle… bigger. Way too much for the small wick - which is what the poem is about.

A sense of defiance, that, even though you’re staring defeat in the face, you will not go out without a fight. You’ll shine up until you’re last moment. It is an attitude that I so greatly wish I can obtain one day. To not sit and be passive, let everything pass you by until too late. To go out and jump off those emotional cliffs, take leaps of faith, and know you did your best. I… think the regret of not trying is worse than the regret of not achieving something. Because you’ll know you did try, and you tried your best, and hopefully you’ll feel like there’s more opportunities out there. Because there always are. Instead of feeling like you’ll never know - the what if’s - and that hopeless despair is one of the most painful.

So, here’s to being that candle. To going out burning bright, doing your best, and knowing you gave your all to the world. I hope, for myself and, if anyone actually got through that ramble of mine, you, can achieve the best you can get, for trying your hardest.
